PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY
Personality is made up of the characteristic patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that make a person unique. In addition, personality arises from within the individual and remains fairly consistent throughout life. Personality is highly predictive because it is the root of all behaviors, feelings, attitudes, and needs.
Some of the fundamental characteristics of personality include:
– Consistency—There is generally a recognizable order and regularity to behaviors. Basically, people act in the same or similar ways in a variety of situations.
– Impact on Behaviors—Personality not only influences how we respond to our environment but also makes us act in particular ways.
– Expressions—Personality is revealed in more than just behavior. It is also seen in our thoughts, feelings, close relationships, and other social interactions.
The bottom line is that we are creatures of habit. Our brains are complex, but our behaviors are not. We act the same way over and over again—life, social, relationship. Since we are habitual creatures, an intelligence algorithm can be written by using publicly available data to connect us to one of the 16 psychological or personality types.
